As a founding member of Streetheart, Daryl Gutheil has literally played every show with the band since its inception in 1977 and he has written songs for every album Streetheart has recorded.
Daryl’s role in Streetheart was key in creating the original sound of the band. With his unique and skilled approach to keyboards, Daryl helped Streetheart to define itself musically and stand apart from many of the other other groups vying for label attention at that time and his vocal ability along with Kenny helped create that undeniable Streetheart ‘sound’.
Always a strong influence on the musical direction of the band, Daryl is a writer/co-writer of many of the bands most popular songs. His unmatched ability to harmonize and follow Kenny’s lead vocal created another element that set the band apart in the beginning and that quality remains as an integral part of the Streetheart signature sound today with new lead vocalist Paul McNair.
Daryl is a solid family man and recently the family celebrated the arrival of their 5th grandchild.
